modelers' orphanage: Jagdpanther

I have revisited the old model i built 15+ years ago. I was puzzled that i haven't seen (other than the ilustration that inspired me) late jagdpanther with zimmerit, as i have built mine.

I asked that question on missyng-lynx forum, where i was informed about lack of proper sources and i realized that i have built impossible model.

So, i scratched the zimmerit off, and replaced the rear hull. I added bits from Tamiya and DML panthers to give this Italeri a new look.

M4A2 76mm

I have started with a project f converting M4A3 76mm Italeri into M4A2 76mm with parts from DML, whereas DML's M4A2 is being converted into M4A3 75mm from Iwo Jima (which will be the subject of another post).

I concentrated on improving Italeri by adding a texture of the armor and various bits and pieces from DML kt.

Selecting the particular vehicle to portray was hard, as Italeri gives us a turret with split hatch, and very few documented tanks were the option. I have selected theone with IS2 on the streets of Berlin.

As hatches were open, something from the inside is to be seen,so i acquired RFM Sherman with inerior instructions and started to scratchbuilt what can be seen from the ope hatches.

Puch, Serbian Armed Forces

This is continuation of a project that inspired me to make this blog, as i started this kit in 2009. At that moment, Revell just released Puch/Mercedes G jeep, and i presumed this would be an easy conversion to make the vehicle used by Yugoslav people's Army, Yugoslav Army,Armo fo Serbia and Montenegro and lastly, Serbian armed forces.

It was not easy.

The roof was a problem and it took several atempts to make correct one, or at least one that my conscience would accept. What i presumed to be a good roof back in the days, was later discovered to lack decent frontal slope, which i altered. I have built another roof from styrene, and used another option for instalation of windows.

After this reconstruction, the roof was installed (dryfitted as it could be said), and windows (inside and out) were protected for painting.

Initial painting

Sme correction and sanding and final instalation and paint. I used interior green FS34102 with a bit of white for scale effect.

Further work will be based on adding brown and black for camouflage...
